Reflecting on 2020 and Looking Ahead

2020 took a different course than anybody expected. It was an astonishingly difficult year for our city, for our families and communities, and for our livelihoods. When we all went online, our chapter pivoted to support the design community through online programming: over the course of the year, we hosted a record 12 events with attendees joining us from Astoria to Australia. 

We had career conversations, we found our voice as designers and co-created online talks, we improved our ability to articulate design decisions, we learned how to become team leaders in remote environments, and we learned that we all have a side hustle. It’s incredible how many events we could pull off when ten months lasts 500 years.

IxDA NYC would like to thank our speakers who gave us their time this year, our members and attendees for participating, and our team of tireless leads who coordinated every event from the concept and planning down to the Zoom settings.

We are actively planning more events like these for 2021 and look forward to seeing you in person in the not too distant future.
