Join IxDA NYC and Women Talk Design for a workshop to learn how to design your talk topic and get started in public speaking.
Do you want to start giving talks at conferences and events but feel overwhelmed? Where do you start? What are you actually qualified to speak about? If you’ve been looking for help finding a talk topic, this workshop is for you.
Connect with your “why” and turn that “why” into a field of potential topics for you to speak about with confidence. Then, learn how to generate ideas for specific talks for years to come out of the same set of building blocks. We’ll show you how to bring other people into your process, brainstorm potential talk topics with others, and receive feedback from your peers in a safe, supportive environment.
The best speakers know how to generate ideas over and over again, and develop those ideas with feedback from others. By the end of this workshop you will be able to do the same with confidence.
Women Talk Design is an organization on a mission to see more diverse speakers on stage. In partnership with IxDA NYC, this event is open to everyone.
During this 2 hour workshop, attendees will:
Get introduced to a framework for designing presentations
identify their personal why and how that shapes the expertise they will share
Explore what topics they can speak and write about
Receive feedback on their ideas
Get access to resources for continued learning
You’ll receive a Zoom link to access the event once you’ve completed your registration.
Please be aware that this is an interactive workshop. We recommend you be in a space you're comfortable talking and interacting with the group, to have the best possible experience.
